Community Guidelines
Our standards for reviews, content, and respectful participation.
For reviewers
Your reviews shape the community. Follow these standards to keep your feedback helpful and trustworthy.
- 1
Review your own experience
Only review events you actually participated in. Don't review on behalf of someone else.
- 2
Be honest and fair
Share what really happened — the good and the bad. Avoid exaggeration and be specific.
- 3
Be constructive
If something went wrong, explain what happened and suggest how it could be improved. Feedback should help, not just criticise.
- 4
Keep it relevant
Focus on your event experience. Don't include personal disputes, unrelated complaints, or promotional content.
- 5
Respect others
No hate speech, threats, discrimination, or personal attacks. Criticise the experience, not the people.
- 6
One review per event
You can update your review, but don't submit multiple reviews for the same event.
For organisers
Your engagement with reviews builds trust. Follow these standards when managing your presence on the platform.
- 1
Don't manipulate reviews
Never offer incentives for positive reviews, pressure athletes to change ratings, or submit fake reviews for your own events.
- 2
Respond professionally
When responding to reviews — especially negative ones — stay professional and constructive. Your responses are public.
- 3
Keep information accurate
Ensure your event listings, company profile, and contact details are truthful and up to date.
- 4
Respect the process
Don't flag honest reviews just because they're negative. Use the report function only for reviews that genuinely violate guidelines.
Content standards
All content on Sporting Scouter — reviews, responses, profiles — must meet these standards.
Prohibited content
- •Hate speech, discrimination, or incitement to violence.
- •Personal information about others (phone numbers, addresses, full names of non-public individuals).
- •Spam, advertising, or promotional material unrelated to the event.
- •Sexually explicit or graphic content.
- •Deliberately false or misleading statements.
- •Content that infringes copyright or intellectual property rights.
How we enforce these guidelines
We take guideline violations seriously to protect the integrity of the platform.
